Our New Lemon Trees

I drew up some plans for new planters that I wanted my father to build me a few months ago. I always loved the way that the X style looked on wooden planters, but I was having the hardest time finding any online...especially affordable options. I found some plans online and altered them to be double the size, because I wanted them to be large enough for trees. I always dreamed of having lemon trees in my yard or on my porch, but didn't think they would grow outside of a tropical climate.I started doing research and found Fast Growing Trees. The website was so informational! I found a few different types of lemon trees, and once I figured out what zone my climate was, they suggested this meyer lemon tree could grow potted in my zone. I was thrilled that my dream of owning lemon trees was actually going to happen!I love that they had options of different tree sizes. I wanted a more mature tree so they would stand tall in the planters and arrive producing fruit. Lemon trees can take up to 5 years to start producing fruit, and I was hoping for lemons come next spring/summer (so impatient). I selected their largest option, which was the 5 foot tree option. Once I placed my order, the company began sending me educational emails about how to care for my tree and even had an individual from their company ask if I had any questions on how to care for, or plant my tree. The customer service was exceptional. I really appreciated this because I am very new to caring for plants and have made several mistakes with my herb garden. I'm working on a green thumb, so the information was welcomed with open arms.  Our porch has been a work in progress. We painted it white, hung string lights, ordered furniture among a variety of other things to make it a relaxed spot to entertain. Now that all of the groundwork has been completed, the lemon trees are the perfect cherry on top. They have made the porch feel cozy and bright! Come this winter, I plan to bring them inside and replace them with a fir or something of the like.In honor of the new trees, I decided to have a little lemon-themed get together with friends. I placed a lemon in each bowl as an accent, served lemonade, and grilled fish (with lemon of course) with zucchini and squash.  What kind of trees do you want to grow?Thank you Fast Growing Trees for sponsoring this post.
